Heat a large frying pan on medium-high. Cook the pineapple until lightly caramelised.
Meanwhile, thinly slice the onion. Cut the burger buns in half and lightly toast or grill.
Top the bottom halves of the buns with barbecue sauce, cheese, burger patty, grilled pineapple, red onion and lettuce. Spread the top halves of the buns with aioli and sandwich the burgers together.
